The Protagonist

All of the village stares

The protagonist steps forward

His feet pushing the silence along

Pack full of furnished foods

Heart empty of damaged goods

He make his way to the brink of green

Shrouded in uncertain darkness

The sun desperately poking it's head through

A sole hand is raised and lowered before swallowed whole

Cautiously, he watched for uprooted groves

Weary of the omnipresent serpent

He reach for his small loaf of bread

Removing only a tiny sliver and placing it behind his sole

The journey is long, and ominous

And he make several missteps and retraces

But as the protagonist finally run dry of his bread

He approach it

A body of water perfectly still

Crystal blue in the epicenter of lush green

It glimmer of all hope and prosperity

Awaiting the numerous arrival

Placing the last minuscule piece of molding bread behind him

The protagonist remove his clothes

Unsheathe his steel

And step idly into the cold and shimmering body

He wade for a brief time

Enjoying natures serene beauty

Before finally closing his all seeing eyes

And letting the water take him whole for all that he is

The sky shines with the sun's intense light

As cherry blossoms bloom amidst the green

There lay a period of silence

Until the next protagonist take journey, making keen note of all the bread pieces left before
